Mandala ~

My idea was vines and roses. I love roses, as you can see in some of my artwork. I tried using my unisals ANG with the vines. I used paint mostly. They reflect each other, I would like to learn more about reflection of things like or water and etc.

Mexico Maps ~

Baja California

Information about my map: Baja California Mexico is the Second-longest peninsula on earth. Official language is Spanish with many indigenous languages spoken. Almost 75% of the Baja population lives in 2 cities located at the border it shares with the United States. The Tijuana Border is the most crossed international border in the world.
Climate ~ Baja Mexico can generally be considered warm and dry throughout the year. The northeast of Baja has desert throughout much of its area and has higher temperatures as a result. The northwest is cool by the Pacific Ocean and experiences lower temperatures on average during the winter. To the south Baja Sur gets more tropical. In between, there are many micro climates depending on location and altitude.
Population ~ Home to some of the world's friendliest people, Baja Mexico is spread out and sparsely populated. Over 75% of the population lives along the northernmost border. It presently has an estimated total population of just under 3 million with almost half of these people living in the very northwest corner of the peninsula in the city of Tijuana.

Begining the project, we used a canvas, napkins and a paint brush. We twisted the napkins, to make the curves/road then dipped it in glue and put it up there. We painted it the next day, my colors were purple and red. Then the next day we used brown and gold. The brown looked like melted chocolate.
The picture above this one is my finished project then the bottom one is mine in the hall, Mrs. Spruill is connecting the maps.

Fingerprints ~

Begining of my finger print, right now I've traced it and started writing my describtion of myself. The big letters are made to stand out because that's what I really love and enjoy.

I finished writing about myself and then I used the watercolor pencils and added color.

From begining to end , we traced our own fingerprints, then when I was finished the big one, I made a mini fingerprint. This is almost finished..

"You should either be a work of art, or wear a work of art." - Oscar Wilde

I picked the picture above because paint was on her outfit, as you know you use paint in art. Art is Fashion and Fashion is art.

My LOVE of big hair , to strips , cheetah & other prints. As you can see, patterns is a form of art, to zentangles to straight lines. Art is always in the clothes you wear.

Perspective Drawing

My idea was a little store and it's side of the store, two windows and a door. Some streaks on the windows and doors because they're glass. I used just paper and a pencil also a ruler to get a vertex. I would like to add more to the back ground and learn more about vertex and lining something up. That'll come in handy in Photography something I choose to do in college. I lost my other drawing that had more and was neater, but It vanished. So, here's another one.

Zues Drawing

This is my "Zues Drawing", kinda like Dr. Seuss. Sorry, the other one had got deleted. But, I like the color and the color values that go lighter to darker & darker to lighter. Pretty sure we are suppose to do this with our group members & connect the pictures. But, the materials/medium used was paper and color pencils.  I don't really like this project when I do it because I don't really take the time on this. I get frustrated with these kind of projects. I guess practice makes perfect. I would've liked to take my time because I did this in like a day because my other one got lost.  My idea was to make them connect but I don't think my other group members completed it.

Inital "A"

My idea was to do my initial and zen-tangles in the background. I used a sharpie pen and paper. I would've liked to have drawn a  star better. Because honestly, I don't know how to draw one. I would like to learn more about graffiti the "A" inital I used was graffiti as you know, it's the first letter of the alphabet and my name "Ahanna".

Color Reduction Finished.

Picture 1: Is my color reduction pictures , the first one is how it looked when I started. Then I added the other colors. The top picture is my origanal picture I traced.
Picture 2 : Close up of my Color Reduction picture.
I started this and I had a block and tools to carve the block. You will see the block in another post I have..the before pictures. First when I carved the block It was the orage in the picture on the original picture white was carved out then the green. Black was the colors the other color inks I had used. Purple , Goldish, Brown , Red, and Blue. After I stamped/printed my orange I let that dry. Then the next day, I did the same thing and lined patterns up and waaa laa ! I took my time on this and this so It was a pretty nice turn out. I'm glad I took my time, I probably want to cut it out and put it together like a puzzle or blow one up. I think it's cool. I would love to learn more about color reducing. I love it , I love this project. I would love to do this again but like on a bigger paper.

Color Reduction

My idea was to make the picture stange, you can think many things about the picture.
The process I used was: I edited the picture on Be Funky. After I printed it, I colored the back of the paper black then traced the different colors white and green. Then the parts I didn't carve out was the black.
I would've liked to cut the pieces out and make it like a puzzle. I like how different this picture is, I love poems so I could write many poems about this picture. I love how it's like a stamp and you can wash it off if you need to change the color like you'll see in my other post.
I would like to learn more about printing color reduction.

Be Funky Art

My Be Funky Picture!  I would've liked to make my eye look more clearer, it still looks like a cat eye though. Then I would've liked my mouth more clearer, I like the way this picture is tooken though.

Finally Finshed

It's Finally Finished, the pot we made it art class. The first picture is when we put glaze on it to make it shine and the 2nd picture is after. Something I would've done differently is not add feet , I would also change the design because I know I could've done better on that part. I kinda like my mouth, it's different.

Art in the hall.

My Artwork in the hall .
Me and My group on the top, right

Clay Continer

My idea was to make a print on the back and lips on the front. Make it different from others with the wave.
The prossessed used was : clay , potters tool (to make the shavings you see) . I used smut and glaze to make the clay blackish. When drying it turned gray, but It will be black once finished.
Meduim: Clay, Paint .
I would like to have had a little bit more time. My pot's kind of uneven, I don't really like the feet. But, I kinda do like my mouth.
I would like to do more projects with clay.

Pet Portrait

My idea was to paint a picture of our dog. This is my friends dog, Cheyene Mata. My dog died when I was younger and I didn't really have pictures just memories. On the side it's like little foot prints, which is something I like about my painting. I liked it better when there was no painting, I need to learn about painting because I don't really like it painted. Making a background would be something I need to learn more about too, it's important in Photography, something I would love to study when I'm older. Paint & a canvas was the material used in my artwork. The medium used was paint.

Zentangles for ya.

My idea was to make it different I wanted the checkers on the bottom to kinda be like the walk way to the house. The clouds and the swirls in the hair are cool to me. If only they were all the same size.. I thought the hair was pretty cool and the house is kinda blended in the background. I used pens, magazines and paper for this project. I used a magazine as my medium. Zentangles was the word I use for this project / vocabulary. I would've liked to have made it neater, but that's what I would like for alot of art work. I like the hair and the face picked because it already has zentangles in it. But, I need to add to the white space, just don't know what.

Wednesday, March 20, 2013

The process used was : color pencial
Vocabulary: color change, shading .
I would've liked to have mad it neater and figure out how to shade better.
I would like to learn more about shading and color change.

Webcam Toy

Webcam Toy Effects.
Laughter for the soul.
Something different, something new.

Webcam Toy - Group Picture

This is my group in class, playing around on Webcam Toy.
Sonora , Katylen, Me & Riley.. I would've liked my head more littler, I already have a big head says my mom, lol.

Random Art

This was the very first thing I created in Visual Arts 1. I used magazines and a piece of cardboard. I like the Indian head and his long feather. I also love the random taco as his arm.
My idea was to contribute different cultures and just make it Random, you would never think someone would attach an Indian head to a baseball player or a taco.  It's weird because one arm is bigger than the other though. I don't know the exact vocab but I would say it's collaging the pictures. I would've liked to make the arms attach better and more neater cut out. I don't really know if I want to learn more about this though.

1-25-13

My idea was learning shading and shadowing. All I used was paper and ebony pencils. Vocabulary used was texture, value and  form.I would do differently my circle, it's not ugly but I could do better. I would like to learn more about shadowing. I like shadowing artwork. 1-25-13
